About

Kyle Brosseuk founded Columbia Klondike Mining in 2020 for his own mining operations and to share a vision for more innovative and sustainable practices within the placer gold mining industry. Columbia Klondike’s consulting and permitting agent services aim to help facilitate a future where mining can continue to support local economies, while adapting to and progressing with the ever-growing body of scientific insight and traditional knowledge that is relied upon to assess both the positive and negative effects placer mining can have on the land and it’s people.

Kyle grew up spending summers on his parents’ placer gold mine in the Yukon Territory, before entering the field himself. He has now worked professionally in the placer mining industry for over 15 years and has developed skills as a heavy equipment operator, camp chef, mining equipment designer/fabricator, crew supervisor/manager, permitting agent, consultant, and placer mine owner/developer. His work has taken him across the globe, furthering his knowledge in both in the logistical and regulatory fields of mining as they vary across different geographic and socio-economic environments.

This upbringing, knowledge, and experience has equipped Kyle with a unique perspective and understanding of the struggles that both miners and stakeholders face in balancing economic viability, cultural consideration, and environmental sustainability in the ever-evolving world of placer gold mining.

Columbia Klondike envisions a long future for the placer mining industry in the Yukon and beyond, one where miners themselves can be examples to other industries in practices of planning, implementation, operation, and reclamation.
